Do Not Grieve.

Do not grieve when I pass away,
Remember it is but another stop upon my way.
On my way to a better existence.
,,,

xxx Bernard Shaw

Copyright only allows us to use a quarter of a poem where the author has not been dead for more than 70 years, and Bernard Shaw died in 1950. I have edited accordingly.

Thank you for cutting my poems by a quarter. There are thousands of people with the name Bernard Shaw and we are still living. I see that this (i church) is biggoted please cancell all the poems I sent in I thought this was a christian community it seems as if I was wrong. Bernard Shaw still alive and kicking with my eighty years.

Have you read my explanation on one of your other blog entries? I will copy it below. I cannot see any reason for you to call us bigoted. We have to abide by the law.

Hello Bernard. I'm sure you don't really mind being mistaken for Geroge Bernard Shaw! You will understand that when people post poems without an explanation we have to make the assumption that they may well be in copyright, and, legally, we have to act accordingly. Without a specific comment stating that they were your own work we would have had to remove 3/4 of each poem anyway.

You can read our Copyright Guidelines here - as you will see, you retain the copyright to anything you post, but you also grant i-church the right to use it in any context within i-church itself. We don't allow posts with the copyright symbol on them (you may have noticed that it did not appear on your posts), because the use of the symbol suggests some extra form of protection that does not exist, and would not be necessary in any case, as you are automatically protected - if you are not happy to allow i-church to quote anything that you post then we have to respectfully ask you not to post it! You accepted these terms and conditions when you registered here.

We would love to hear more from you, but why not post about yourself rather than just posting your poetry? If you just want a means of publishing your work, this isn't really the place. However, if you were to tell us about your reasons for writing it and how it impacts on your Christian journey, that would be great. :)

This is actually designed to protect your - and everyone else's - rights to your own work. If you would still like me to delete your blog entries, let me know and I will do so.
