Our Lent book this year will be Dethroning Mammon, by Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury.

This can be bought from your usual bookshop, and is also available in a Kindle format on Amazon.

The introduction to the book can be seen on a PDF here.

I am planning to lead a weekly discussion session in the chatroom, if you are interested in joining this and have a preference for a particular evening, could you let me know by private message or by posting on this thread, please?

There will also be a discussion thread on the book.

Most days in general work for me since I am 5 hours earlier than the UK.
Better to go with what the majority wishes.

Now I need to order the book quickly.

Thanks for leading us, Pam.
Peace and blessings,
Joe

I'm going to post the finalised dates for the book group tomorrow.

Having looked at availability including my own, it's going to work best if we do different nights in different weeks, and this should hopefully mean that nobody is completely excluded by me picking the wrong night, as unfortunately they were at Advent  :hmm:

The book is available on Kindle if anyone has left it too late to order a physical copy of it.

Just in case anybody doesn't know - you don't need an actual Kindle device to download Kindle books etc. From the amazon website there is a free Kindle application that can be downloaded if your computer, tablet or mobile phone doesn't have one already. There is no limit to the number of devices you can put :ereader: on.
I found this handy at Advent. If you're discussing a book on here, you can use another device to refer to the book without having to shift between screens.

Thanks, Joyce - I have the Kindle app on my iPad, but I haven't yet worked out how to open it in my laptop!

Try downloading or redownloading Kindle-for-PC from the amazon website. It should open then by clicking on the blue Kindle icon.
