God of love, make yourself known in these broken places where you seem so absent, where it's so hard to fathom what you are about. Yet we read you are love and your everlasting arms are beneath us. Heal the sick, give peace to the dying, rest to those who have died, and courage to those who grieve. Sustain all the rescue workers that they may be your hands and heart to those they serve. Strengthen our faith when it falters under questions of 'why?' and 'where are you?' Amen
