I think of Mary, in the last stages of her pregnancy,
probably, like most women, scared of what lay before her,
probably longing to hold her baby.

Waiting, fearing, trusting, longing, loving.

Lord God, we wait and fear and long for what will happen
to this lovely world of yours.

Be with us in our waiting.
