Maundy Thursday

My son was a chorister at Coventry Cathedral when the Queen attended the Royal Maundy service and, as a choir parent, I caught a glimpse of her Majesty's hat as she walked to her seat! As she was going down the line of recipients, someone rummaged under her chair and brought out of pot of her home-m...

My father-in-law - aged 94 - had his first jab on Saturday and is awaiting further instructions about his follow up. Everything seems to have gone smoothly, and he is relieved to have got this far without catching Covid.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2021

Our street is usually very Christmassy from 1 December onwards - we don't put up decorations till nearer to Christmas. One house opposite us still has its full array of outside lights etc. If it was left to me, I'd keep the lights up all year - I love Christmas lights! A Baptist church in Coventry h...

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2021

To keep our spirits up perhaps we should follow the old tradition of keeping decorations up to Candlemas - 2nd Feb. Why not? https://www.tudorsociety.com/christmas-decorations-twelfth-night-and-candlemas/ R We didn't have time to take our tree down today, so I guess we're following the old tradition!
