Hello again

Believe me, I speak from experience when I say that many people out there don't like foreigners. Please don't belittle my experience and my journey. I made a specific point that this is nothing to do with people in church. I can see that I have come to the wrong place. Your response echoes what I ha...

Hello again

Caroline, I wasn't aware that I had made any blanket comments about other people's motivations and priorities. I try very hard not to. Perhaps you can point out which comments caused offence, so I can avoid them in future? I speak as one who had no voice in the referendum, who has been deeply affect...

Hello again

Hi Joe

I don't think Brexit broke off the church, but it has left me feeling alienated and no longer belonging. It has made realise just how many people out there (not specifically in church) believe foreigners to be a problem. I have lived here for 28 years and never knew.

Boston

I came across this open letter today by a Catholic Father. "Dear Dzhokhar, You don’t know me, but you tried to kill my family. You couldn’t have known, but my brother ran bandit in the marathon and trained for months. My sister in law was an amazing and supportive wife as she always is and was ready...

Daughter going to Bangladesh

My daughter is going to Bangladesh with VSO next month and is busy getting ready with preparations (immunisations, provisions, fundraising etc). Have any of you been to Bangladesh and can give any advice? We are very excited for her, but I cannot help feeling a little anxious from time to time too ...

He is Risen - Happy Easter

He is risen indeed. Alleluia! :sing1: I loved todays reading from Luke 20. I am so moved by the tenderness and intimacy of this encounter. When she had said this, she turned round and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not know that it was Jesus. Jesus said to her, ‘Woman, why are you weeping? Fo...

I am a Christian my wife is not.

Hi Andrew I have not been around for some time and have just read your thread. I have been in this situation for 10 years now - when I became a Christian and my husband changed from an agnostic to an atheist. We certainly have our difficult patches (often around times of festivals) and there are som...

Married to an unbeliever

Christmas is a difficult time for my husband (atheist) and me (Christian) because it seems to crystalise out our differences.
I'm feeling the tension rising at the moment.
Please keep us in your prayers.

Married to an unbeliever

Boogie wrote: Things change, life changes, belief changes. Personally, I'm glad our relationship isn't based on our faith - but on our friendship. My advice to all is 'marry your best friend'. Passion, faith, romance, beliefs - all these come and go. Friendship endures.

I like that, Boogie!
