Re: What's the point of prayer?
That's the heart of prayer to me too - the conversation, the being-with, the relationship. We may use different forms at different times in our lives, and different people will have different needs, but God is the God of the individual, and that's fine.

Re: Where has my faith gone and does it matter?
Free will is a concept that confuses everybody, people of faith and people of no faith. I could go into details of the logical difficulties with every possible solution that can be proposed, but I won't because it wouldn't be of any help to anybody, and I'm sick of philosophy anyway. My thought proc...

Re: Where has my faith gone and does it matter?
That's encouraging, Caroline, thank you. What you say is part to the issue for me, people of no faith, or not practising it in a church being more helpful than the church itself. It took a while, but my faith returned gradually, or possibly it just resurfaced. Maybe mine might do the same, do you t...

Re: What's the point of prayer?
I found that when I wasn't sure whether I believed in God, but knew that if I did I certainly didn't want to talk to him, it helped to just be. To sit or walk in a place where I felt calm, and feel that - maybe - I was sitting with God. Not talking, but giving space for companionship. No words, and,...

Re: Where has my faith gone and does it matter?
Hi Nel. :) I also had a period of my life when my faith seemed to have gone away. I had been at a very lively and active church as a teenager, and when I was about seventeen I realised that my non-Christian friends were much nicer than my friends at church, and found it very difficult to accept. I s...

Re: Twitter
Hmm. But i-church isn't a person in this context - it's not as though the members have access via the i-church account, just via their own accounts.
If you click on the Lent link on the noticeboard it will take you into the Lent program.

i-church has a Twitter account, and will be posting updates concerned with what we are doing. We'd love it if you would follow us - just look for ichurchorg or go to https://twitter.com/ichurchorg and start following. If you don't have a Twitter account it's very easy to set one up.
