Re: Where has my faith gone and does it matter?

That's encouraging, Caroline, thank you. What you say is part to the issue for me, people of no faith, or not practising it in a church being more helpful than the church itself. It took a while, but my faith returned gradually, or possibly it just resurfaced. Maybe mine might do the same, do you t...

Re: What's the point of prayer?

I found that when I wasn't sure whether I believed in God, but knew that if I did I certainly didn't want to talk to him, it helped to just be. To sit or walk in a place where I felt calm, and feel that - maybe - I was sitting with God. Not talking, but giving space for companionship. No words, and,...

Re: Where has my faith gone and does it matter?

Hi Nel. :) I also had a period of my life when my faith seemed to have gone away. I had been at a very lively and active church as a teenager, and when I was about seventeen I realised that my non-Christian friends were much nicer than my friends at church, and found it very difficult to accept. I s...

Re: Twitter

Hmm. But i-church isn't a person in this context - it's not as though the members have access via the i-church account, just via their own accounts.

If you click on the Lent link on the noticeboard it will take you into the Lent program.

Twitter

i-church has a Twitter account, and will be posting updates concerned with what we are doing. We'd love it if you would follow us - just look for ichurchorg or go to https://twitter.com/ichurchorg and start following. If you don't have a Twitter account it's very easy to set one up. Go to https://tw...

Re: Sacred Handbags

Mine is a scary place according to my husband, but I don't think it's sacred. It always contains far too much - purse, phone, ipod, makeup, a comb, either no pens or lots of pens, headache pills, indigestion pills, tissues, two car keys, breath freshener, eye drops, several carrier bags, many receip...

Re: Snow and flood...

We haven't had any more snow than we usually get, but last week we were snowed out of our county town 25 miles away, because they had more than they were used to. Apparently a mountain (really just a hill that stretched its neck and managed to make the grade) three miles away, that we can see from o...

Re: Caroline Petrie - the praying nurse

But it's my understanding that Jesus hadn't willingly entered into a legal contract with an employer which required him to behave in certain ways in return for a salary. Jesus came as a human, and as such was subject to the same contract and payment with God as the rest of us are. It seems, from th...
