Re: Vegetarian Christmas Fayre

Chestnuts do seem to be a different consistency to most nuts so I wondered if they counted!

Are seeds any good or do they set you off as well?

Re: Vegetarian Christmas Fayre

just noticed the nut allergy - does that apply to chestnuts? :(

I guess you are left with coated pasta without the pesto ( pine nuts) plus tofu then!

Re: Vegetarian Christmas Fayre

For totally non-animal meals I love the marinaded tofu pieces as an ingredient for stir fries etc. You could make a chestnut based pie without cheese or eggs, maybe some tofu in that would go well.

Re: Vegetarian Christmas Fayre

My younger son is a vegetarian, and I am an almost vegetarian - I'll eat meat once in a blue moon but most of the time don't - so I've tried lots of vegetarian things at Christmas. I've found a lot of the recipes come out quite bland. I sometimes wonder if people try them before they publish them. O...

Aw Ernest you big softie. ;)

Nope, I have had my cards for 12 months because I was too ill to write the ones I wrote last year, still not written, Amazon order still not completed, I have some presents wrapped though. That puts me considerably ahead of this time last year.

Re: Days of Discipline & Self - Denial......

I know someone who is very high church who 'fasts' on Friday. I went for lunch one Friday and was offered five types of cheese, houmous, three types of bread, crackers, crispbread, salads, soup and fruit for pudding - which looked like a feast to me. I worked out from that meal that 'fasting' is eit...

Do you think they're being sponsored by the coffee marketing board? It told me I need a cup of coffee as well!

Re: Spiritual direction

For info - it's really important to note that i-church does not offer 1:1 spiritual direction or counselling. There is a wide range of people in i-church with a lot of wisdom and experience, but any advice which is offered is the responsibility of the person involved, not i-church. This would be exa...

Re: Finding Time for Prayer

I'm not worried Babs, but I do want to make sure that we don't build up the same pressures the worship team were under before.

The chapel has always been available for informal prayer where 2 or more are gathered - or even one on their own - and it's great for that to be happening. :)

Re: Finding Time for Prayer

Meeting for open prayer sounds good. I'm keen not to overburden Barbara or anyone else at the moment so I'd like to keep such meetings informal and not part of the regular schedule at the moment. Jae and I have been looking at and will continue looking at how the worship schedule should...
