Keswick Convention 2019

Post by ecobarry » Wed Aug 07, 2019 2:09 pm

We had a Blessed time at the Keswick Convention 2019 in week 3.
We wonder if any i-church friends attended this year....... Or in previous years.

I have not been here in i-church for a while but want to say hello again.
Blessings and prayers for you all.

Hi Barry,
A warm welcome back.
Lots of song and folks at another outdoor gathering in England I did attend and enjoy with some i-churchers--very uplifting.
Please tell us a bit more about Keswick when you have time. Thanks.
Peace and blessings,
Joe

Is it something the Anglican church is involved with? Why or why not?
Peace and blessings,

The Anglican Church is involved with lots of conventions, Joe, including Keswick. It's one of what my father used to call 'proper church' events.

:votive2: Hello again,
The Keswick Convention started in a tent on the lawn of the Vicar of St Johns Anglican church in 1875!

Billy Graham preached by the nearly lake Derwent in 1975, centenary celebrations year to many thousands of people.
Blessings and prayers for you and everyone from hot sunny Lancashire :cross:

Great to see you here again, Barry.

I’ve been to Keswick, but not during the Convention. When our children were young, we used to go with my sister and her family to New Wine in Somerset, which was a similar event with plenty of teaching, music and prayer ministry. We found it a breath of fresh air to be completely immersed in Christian community for a week.
