I couldn't get into the chapel this evening ... I'm so sorry I missed being with you all tonight. Sadly Chapel didn't want me to join you tonight  I tried several times, but to no avail :brickwall: All being well I'll be able to join you in worship next week.

I am sorry for letting you all down.

I'm really sorry you weren't able to log in to join us Jennifer, and sorry to miss you leading us, but we knew you must be having problems and nobody felt you'd let us down.

I'm afraid I nodded off before the service and woke up after 9pm.

I'm getting more like my granny every day. I seem to remember her son doing something similar at this age - although of course he insisted he was only resting his eyes - so I must have inherited the gene. Sorry about that.

I hope everybody enjoyed the service : the title looked interesting.

Wednesday Worship tonight will be a Christingle service.

NB PLEASE LOG IN THROUGH THE CHAPEL AND CHAT THREAD HERE

or you will be unable to share the worship resources.

If you would like to make your own Christingle to bring, here is a reminder of how to do it and what it symbolises, kindly posted on you tube by Father Simon Rundell:

In UK churches, the Christingle service often includes a donation to the Children's Society.

If you would like to donate £5 to the Children's Society by SMS, text the word ‘ORANGE’ to 70800.

for more information about the work of the Children's Society and Christingle, click here.

No Phil - thank you for asking.

It's just that for various reasons none of the three of us could be available tonight but normal service will be resumed next week.

We don't usually have much of a break for Christmas and NY but having both 'Eves' on Wednesday it seemed unlikely that many would attend so we took the opportunity to recharge our worship leading batteries!

Sorry for any disappointment but we will be back on track next week.

Meanwhile please do post any prayer requests in the prayer forum if you have any.

Wednesday worship tonight will be around the theme of Epiphany Season.

The Church of England's Times and Seasons booklet for Epiphany explains:
The season of joyful celebration that begins at Christmas now continues
through the successive Sundays of Epiphany, and the festal cycle ends only
with the Feast of the Presentation (Candlemas). The child who has been
manifested to the magi at his birth is now recognized by Simeon and Anna,
when he comes to be presented in the Temple according to the Law of Israel.
He is both ‘a light to lighten the Gentiles’ and ‘the glory of God’s people
Israel’. But the redemption he will bring must be won through suffering;
the Incarnation is directed to the Passion; and Simeon’s final words move
our attention away from the celebration of Christmas and towards the
mysteries of Easter.
(From the introduction to Times and Seasons, Epiphany, p 120.
