I guess that must be very comforting 😀

An experience I'd like to have, too. I can just imagine it - lovely !

Oh yes ! A sensation I definitely recognise. It was added to the one I had when I heard the thump after the postman put the book package through the letterbox this morning.

I know this one well😀
Then trying not to get through it too quickly because I don’t want it to end.

Me too! The final book of the Harry Potter series came out in the middle of floods where we lived. We went out at midnight to get it and were turned back by the police. The agony!!!

The pedant in me forces me to point out that those are not pots of bulbs! The message, however, is lovely.

I can't read all the labels clearly - are they mostly corms or seeds ?
The pedaant in you must be more patient than the one in me. Mine always totally obscures any message.

They are delphiniums, sweet williams and zinnias - not even corms, but grown from seed!

It was Iain’s Birthday the day after the Wedding and Catriona had ordered her new husband a small birthday cake which he was presented with at the breakfast table ......her dilemma was how he would react, as his last words on approaching the room were “No fuss Please”.

I can certainly relate to this!
Just spent two days in bed with the flu and nothing done!

Good for you, being able to sit up on the third day. Whatever you do, don't force yourself to do anything.

I'm not sure about yesterday's - I often find that when names from ages gone by jump out on Facebook I just want to scroll on by!

Yesterday's chimed well with me, actually. I suppose it depends why you remember them, or what you think they remember you for. Or perhaps it's a generational thing. When someone you haven't seen for sixty five years pops up from nowhere and asks you to be a friend or join a group, I think it's heartwarming. So far.

As for today's - I've never had the feeling they are the root of me. I feel empathy and curiosity but also sometimes feel I'm intruding. In many ways it seems disrespectful to be investigating older generations. Perhaps that's because although Grandma happily talked about her family when asked, Grannie taught me discretion, confidentiality and decorum regarding life in general. But however one sees it, it's something that binds cousins from divers walks of life together and keeps one in touch with their own descendants when they're gone. That's a nice thing and one can't help thinking the ancestors would be pleased about that.

That's interesting Joyce, because I have always felt that I don't have any right to intrude into the personal details of my ancestors - simple information about age, marriage, occupation etc is fine, but I'm very uncomfortable with the in-depth speculation about life and motive that often drives people.

I don't think anyone in the future is going to be able to understand me by examining the facts of my life, and I don't want them to try!

I thought I was the odd one out for not wanting to search my family tree ....how refreshing that you both feel the same :)
Flu!
I think being so poorly that you don’t care is much easier to cope with than starting to make a recovery only to find you can’t do anything and have to go back to bed.
I have the newly weds arriving on Monday and up to now I’ve managed to have a daily shower and change my bedding daily
Not seen anyone since Sunday so should have contained it as much as possible. Lots of prayers being said :votive1: :votive1: :votive1:

Oh Joan, it's far too early to be hostessing visitors ! I do hope it'll be the other way round and when they arrive that they'll look after you .

Might need to shelve this for now !
