I also wish to pray for the victims of the Paris attacks and for their families. may those who have died rest in peace. I remember their families and their terrible pain and sorrow.

Please protect young people from becoming indoctrinated in the beliefs that have led to these horrifying events.

(I think the Kenya story currently in the news is from April - this one - which is not to say, of course, that we shouldn't be praying for them all.)

Belgian jihadi ID'd as mastermind of Paris attacks
RAPHAEL SATTER and JOHN-THOR DAHLBURG
Associated Press
BRUSSELS (AP) — Once a happy-go-lucky student at one of Brussels' most prestigious high schools, Saint-Pierre d'Uccle, Abdelhamid Abaaoud morphed into Belgium's most notorious jihadi, <> the fugitive, in his late 20s, was identified by French authorities on Monday as the presumed mastermind of the attacks last Friday in Paris that killed 129 people and injured hundreds.

Praying for peace with justice. :praying:
Peace and blessings,

Report November 20, 2015:

http://webcenters.netscape.compuserve.c ... OL4173.htm

Prime Minister Manuel Valls says one more person has died as the result of last week's attacks in Paris, raising the total to 130.
<>
Hundreds also were wounded by the attackers, many severely.
<>
A French security official says the suspected mastermind of the Paris attacks was seen on surveillance camera in the subway around the time of the shootings and suicide bombings in cafes, a rock concert and a stadium.

The official, not authorized to be publicly named discussing an ongoing investigation, says Abdelhamid Abaaoud was seen at the Croix de Chavaux metro station in the suburb of Montreuil at 10:14 p.m. on Nov. 13.

Teams of attackers started the violence at 9:20 p.m. at the national stadium north of Paris, then started firing on Paris cafes a few minutes later.

The metro station where Abaaoud was seen is not far from where police later found a Seat car believed used by the attackers.

Prosecutors say Abaaoud was killed in a police raid north of Paris on Wednesday.

End

Into your hands, O Lord, we commit those who have died. Heal those who have been injured. Comfort those who suffer and grieve. And by your mercies let us see peace in our time. Amen. :praying:

PRAYERS FROM THE CHURCH OF ENGLAND

Compassionate God and Father of all,
we are horrified at violence
in so many parts of the world.
It seems that none are safe, and some are terrified.

Hold back the hands that kill and maim;
turn around the hearts that hate.
Grant instead your strong Spirit of Peace -
peace that passes our understanding
but changes lives,
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen

God of Hope,
we come to you in shock and grief and confusion of heart.
Help us to find peace in the knowledge
of your loving mercy to all your children,
and give us light to guide us out of our darkness
into the assurance of your love,
In Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen

Merciful God,
hear the cries of our grief,
for you know the anguish of our hearts.
It is beyond our understanding
and more than we can bear.

We pray that justice may be done
and that we may treasure the memory of their lives
more than the manner of their death.
For Christ's sake.
Amen
