More prayers for those affected by flooding

Post by Caroline » Sat Dec 26, 2015 9:52 pm

Prayers for those in Cumbria, Yorkshire, Lancashire and Wales who are affected by flooding (and any other places that have not made it onto the news yet - please name them).

:votive2: For the water to subside swiftly;
:votive2: For the damage to be minimal and manageable;
:votive2: For insurance to come through quickly and easily;
:votive2: For people to feel safe and secure in their homes;
:votive2: For whatever action that needs to be taken to be taken quickly and sensibly.
Kindness is underrated.

I cannot imagine the pain and loss these people have suffered but I do know they need all the help we can give them in what ever way we can. :votive1: :votive1:

I once lost everything in a fire. After thirty years I still remember how it felt to receive cards and letters as well as practical assistance and gifts. Knowing they are being thought of and prayed for will mean a lot to the flood victims at a time like this.

One of my early memories is of being handed to rescuers through the kitchen window when the sea came over. We were within yards of the shore between Towyn and Rhyl on the Denbighshire/Flintshire border. The one thing as a child that reconciled me to moving inland to England was the thought that I'd never again have to worry about water up to the house and running all the way down to submerge the main road. It is hard to imagine the feelings of so many people to whom it's happening for the second or even third time.

:votive2: :votive1: :votive1: For all affected and for those working to ameliorate the situation.

:votive1: :votive1: for all those facing a lot of heartache as they return to their flooded homes for the first time. Give them courage and strength Lord.

:votive1: for the environmental issues concerning recent floods to be given serious consideration and appropriate action to be taken to try and avert any further repeats of such damage and destruction to peoples lives.
