Autumn is here with the usual worries i.e. Health, the future, work etc. Is there anyone else feeling this way?

Can we pray together when feeling very low?

We certainly can.

May healing
flow like a stream
through our lives,
sweeping away
stones,
debris,
all that impedes,
leaving us
refreshed,
renewed,
at peace.

We are always open for prayer - many people read these boards without responding but I'm sure a lot of them offer a prayer when it's asked for.

Lord, as the days darken,
As the bloom of summer fades,
help us to enjoy the golds and purples,
of autumn, in wonder at your creation.

Lord, as we move towards advent,
to celebrate Jesus' coming,
help us to reflect on your Glory,
while reflecting it to those around us.

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer

Where there is hope and love there is life!
God is Life!
God is Hope!
God is Love!
God Is!!

Praying together is wonderful !

I would like to share my favourite Season's Prayer

The Season's of God's mercy
by John Donne

God, You made the sun and moon to distinguish seasons and day and night.
And we cannot have the fruits of the earth but in their seasons.
But You hath made no decree to distinguish the seasons of Your mercies.
In paradise the fruits were ripe the first minute, and in heaven it is always autumn.
Your mercies are ever in their maturity.
You never say we should have come yesterday. You never say we must come back tomorrow, but today, if we will hear Your voice, You will hear us.
You brought light out of darkness, not out of lesser light. You can bring The summer out of winter, though You have no spring. All occasions invite Your mercies and all times are Your seasons.

Amen

Hey, I'm feelin better already. Hope you are too Peter 54.

Thank You Lord God, Father and Mother of all, for Your infinite Mercy, Grace and Love to us all.

And for the gift of prayer, being the antidote for confusion or despair.

Thank you, Isobel, for the poem and Caroline for pointing to it.
Much as I like Spring, Autumn is my favourite season. Hay fever and summer sinusitis are over but the days are still light enough to enjoy being out of doors with a good book. I sat out this afternoon in the sunshine for the first time for months. Nothing bit me and I'm not scratching, coughing or sneezing. It's after 4.30 pm and I've needed no drugs of any kind so far today. :sing2: :lolol: I've not said that since February.
I left school more than half a century ago but I still get that feeling as September gets underway that I'm ready to reunite with friends and start learning something. ( And the shops no longer have the Back To School signs in the windows that make me recall how I used to dread the end of the holidays. )
To me, there's something stimulating about the sharpness in the air and the conkers on the trees. Blackberries and apples are in season for pudding, and root vegetables abound for making stews and casseroles. Churches and schools have Harvest Festivals and many parishes organise Harvest suppers with food, games and dancing, not to mention Autumn Fayres.
The sad thing about Autumn is that it heralds Winter with its foggy roads, dangerous snowdrifts, slippery pavements and cold parts of the house.(I don't have central heating.) Sufferers from S.A. D. feel literally under the weather and have to get under lamps. The clocks go back at the end of October and we then have two months of dark nights before the days start to draw out at Christmas.
There are of course new Advent books out most years.

Thank you Isobel :spin:

A good summing up Joyce and I had not really thought about the freedom of medications for some people. It was nice to read that you had enjoyed being outside.
Unfortunately we do not celebrate with harvest Festivals up here so a great yearning for such services hangs over me at this time. Our schools break up at the end of this week for two weeks which used to be referred to as Potato picking time and I think it was introduced officially because school attendance was so poor during these weeks in the past and the head teacher would get fined for non attendance of pupils.

I have to say we have had a wonderful week weather wise, far better than any of our summer....the mornings are chilly and crisp but then a weak sunshine slowly creeps out and we have been noticing how long our shadows are at this time of year....mainly because we have been trying to take photos without catching them in it

:votive1: :votive1: Thank you Lord for all your seasons and may we see the beauty in each one...for every season has it's reason and if we can pause to enjoy and sample just a little each day we will be refreshed.
