Thank you for the All Saints links on the Gatehouse
Interesting way to learn a little every day ....a sort of pre Advent calendar for people who just cannot wait for Christmas

Reason:just tweaking the title :)
My Grandson is named Aiden, not sure if he appreciates the significance of his name. Being a Mormon though, he will appreciate the Saints as Mormons remember all of their ancestors as Saints.
And our Parish is called All Saints which means a celebration on the day, normally with the Bishop present as we do our Confirmations on that day.
Thank you for the link Caroline. What an interesting account of a remarkable man with such foresight that much of his preaching would certainly not be misplaced today.
Life is a bit busy for me just now, and I very nearly passed on this link ...but I do love Francis of Assisi..he was one of the first Saints I heard of as a young child during my bedtime prayers with my Mother and an image of a gentle man engulfed by all that nature has to offer has remained with me throughout life. I believe he was the cause of my first true awakening to the call of the wild and to experience the peace and serenity to be found in prayer outdoors. I now make a point of visiting my outdoor place of prayer daily when possible and 'Make me a channel of Your Peace' is often my companion along the way....and in my head hours later ..some tunes are like that ..they take a hold of your subconscious and I believe Francis of Assisi did just that all those years ago.
Thank you for the link Caroline ...it made me stop and take a breather ...life is not so busy that I need to rush through it after all!
We celebrated his Feast Day yesterday at Holy Communion. It was interesting to hear more details than are published on historical sites. And our Vicar had done her research well indeed.
Where there is hope and love there is life!
God is Life!
God is Hope!
God is Love!
God Is!!
What an interesting account ....I have very slow internet due to a certain storm Caroline disrupting power ( wonder who that might be named after ) but as before ..your link got me hooked and I have enjoyed the little bit of respite between filling vacuum flasks, setting up camping stoves and trimming oil lamp wicks! Thank you once again for making me stop and think!
